What we are seeking:
Drunken Mermaid actively seeks submissions of original music, modeling portfolios, fashion portfolios, film/video, and art and theatrical works. We publish interviews, bios, samples and press releases, and links to selected sites. We also publish details of upcoming events.
Drunken Mermaid features both established and new artists side by side. A critical component of our mission is to promote new and undiscovered talent. While we use several agencies to source features, you do not need to have any representation to submit. You also don’t have to be the next Beyonce, Bruce Springsteen, or Thomas Pynchon. All you need to do is care about you work.
Drunken Mermaid does not pay for the materials it publishes. The artists retain ownership of their works. We accept original works only – no cover versions unless submitted through an agency. Cover bands are welcome to add their appearances to the Events page, however.
What we do not want:
Drunken Mermaid does not wish to receive and does not publish hate speech or works that are excessively violent or pornographic in nature.
How to submit:
All artists are encouraged to self-promote by posting links, events, and information directly to our facebook page. If we like what you post, we may contact you to inquire about featuring you on drunkenmermaid.com.
To be featured on drunkenmermaid.com, send an email query to firstname.lastname@example.org. Include biographical information and a brief description of what you’d like to submit. If we are interested, we will contact you to discuss the details and submission formats.
All submissions are evaluated by our editorial staff. If we decline to publish your works we may or may not provide feedback. In the event we do not publish your work, you may still send future submissions. As established artists know, publication is often a function of persistence over time. Believe in yourself and don’t be afraid of rejection or criticism.
All the best,
